McGrueder: Lab/Pit Mix
Sometimes my mom and dad go away and leave me alone and I get really sad. But then I get a new mom. Her name is Lauralea, and when she comes overs I like to jump and jump and jump and jump and jump and jump and jump (mostly on her). I get a little excited. Then she walks me and feeds me and pets me and love me......it's great

Lucas: Papillon/Chihuahua Mix
My name is Lucas and I am a (very loved and pampered) Papillon-Chihuahua mix. My Mom Nicole is a Professional Dog Trainer, and when she was looking for a dog walker for me, she knew she had to find someone who had enough experience in dog behavior to be able to handle me (she says I'm really sweet but can be nervous and "high-strung" - whatever that means...). All I know is that I loved Amy right away when we first met her at my house, and my Mom says she knew she could trust her to take good care of me and understand me. (She and Lauralea are great with people too - my Mom really likes both of them!) I love taking walks and playing with Amy and I really look forward to seeing her. And my Mom loves me so much, I know that she wouldn't let just anyone look after me. She has known many other dog walkers and sitters as a Professional Trainer, but she chose It's A Dog's Life to take care of me, and she recommends them to anyone who is looking for a responsible, friendly, and loving group of people to care for their dogs.

Greg Stanton & Boo: Black Lab
It’s cliché to say that our pets are our family, but it is true. My 11 year old lab, Boo, is my best buddy, my son, my protector. His health, happiness and safety are an utmost concern of mine.
I frequently travel for my business (and sometimes pleasure) and needed to find a reliable and personable dog and house sitting service. I had asked friends to perform the task in the past, but felt that a professional service could offer more care and peace of mind. Glancing through the Pasadena Weekly, I saw an ad for It's A Dog’s Life. Amy and Lauralea came to my house to meet Boo. I was immediately assured by their professionalism and obvious passion for the business of taking care of pets.
Amy and Lauralea were sure to review all the needs of Boo, his routine, his favorite toys (tennis balls) and the need to exercise him twice a day including walks and playtime. They were very accommodating and flexible to my schedule. They have become the only pet sitting service that I use. I sincerely and highly recommend It's A Dog’s Life.

Bella: Yorkshire/Silky Terrier
Hi, my name is Bella. Every morning after an early walk with my mom, I eat breakfast. My mom then leaves me to go to work. I get sad. But, then I rememeber that my nice, tall, red headed friend Lauralea comes everyday and plays with me! She takes me out so I can go potty and always gives me yummy treats. If she didn't come, I would sleep all day, have no excercise and probably even potty in my own house. She always comes to see me in the middle of the day so that I don't get too lonely. I don't know what time exactly, but my mom knows. My friend Lauralea never forgets to leave my mommy a note telling her how great I am. My mommy never worries at work because she knows that my friend Lauralea is always so nice to me.

Ben: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Lauralea is my mom #2. I can't imagine life without her. Whenever mom and dad are busy working, or have to go out of town, I know that I can always count on her to take care of me! I never have to worry about being left alone or not getting enough exercise, dealing with people who don't know my routine (treats?) or my needs (cookies?), or being lonely during those long nights when my people are away. Of course, I like to keep It’s A Dog's Life around for more than just treat-dispensing... Lauralea is helping me to become a well-adjusted, good canine citizen, too! She is great with pups and very intuitive about my needs. So if ever I'm feeling a little off (like that time I chewed up my bed) or just need a little extra help learning the rules (heeling was fun to learn! Suffice it to say, cookies were involved), both my parents and I take comfort in knowing that she is around with very capable hands and sound advice. Who would want to walk with anyone else?

Meg and Hula: Labrador Retrievers
Our Labs, Meg and Hula, mean everything to us. When our work schedules changed and our girls were going to have to spend long days by themselves, we knew we had to do something to get them the exercise and attention they needed and were used to. We are so grateful to have found Amy and It’s a Dog’s Life! It seems to us that Amy goes WAY beyond the call of duty with our pups! She really “gets” their little quirks, and comes up with all kinds of things to do with them that thrill and challenge them. Sure, she takes them on nice walks; but she also takes them for swims when she can; she hikes with them; she even coordinates dates with dog friends from time to time. Best of all, they LOVE her! They’re happily exhausted after a visit with Amy and relaxed and secure when we get home from work. It’s clear that Amy cares very genuinely for our dogs which, of course, is beyond wonderful for us. She exudes expertise, friendliness, warmth and competence — we never worry knowing they’re off with Amy and in great hands. She’s part of their family now — and ours too!
