Over the years, Lauralea has worked with several non-profit animal organizations as a dog trainer, behavior consultant, and dog adoption counselor. As a behavior consultant, she advises staff and volunteers on proper treatment of behavioral issues such as resource guarding and fear response. When acting as an adoption counselor, Lauralea provides shelter tours to visiting public, guides families in selecting the right dog for their lifestyle and education to those who may not be quite ready to take the leap into dog ownership. Lauralea utilizes reward-based training methods and specializes in the rehabilitation of rescued dogs. She also has comprehensive experience and training in canine agility, obedience, sheep herding and schutzhund. As a K9 Nose Work competitor, Lauralea earned the NW2 title with Fern, her Shepherd/Chow Mix. She also successfully trained and certified her Belgium Malinois, Mayhem, in bed bug scent detection. As the Company Owner and Certified Pet Dog Trainer, Lauralea conducts all private and group dog training sessions. As an Associate Nose Work Instructor through the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) she currently runs K9 Nose Work classes in Glendale, CA. Coming Spring of 2012, she hopes to add K9 Manners classes to the list as well. |
Jonathan BeardenDog Walker/Pet Sitter: San Fernando Valley Pet First Aid & CPR Certified Jonathan grew up in the mountains of Alabama where his family owned a commercial chicken farm. Not only did he grow up around thousands of chickens but also around packs of dogs. He moved to Los Angeles three years ago to continue working as an actor and writer. Jonathan currently lives in North Hollywood with his two rambunctious Parson Russell Terriers. |
Will BowlesPet Sitter: San Gabriel Valley/San Fernando Valley Pet First Aid & CPR Certified Will is an actor, writer and Virginian living in Los Angeles. A huge lover of dogs and cats (and birds, hamsters, ferrets, snakes - basically everything except spiders and sharks). His first ever canine friend was an Eskimo Spitz/Poodle mix named Puff. He is delighted to be working with It's A Dog's Life and is always thrilled to meet new animals. |
Sue GisserPet Sitter: Westside/San Fernando Valley Pet First Aid & CPR Certified Sue has been around animals all her life. She broke her parents in slowly...first with a fish, then a bird, horse-back riding and a cat. Sue has been cat and dog sitting since her move to Los Angeles six years ago. Jason Kee fDog Walker/Pet Sitter: San Fernando Valley Pet First Aid & CPR Certified Jason is originally from Alabama. He moved to Los Angeles three years ago in pursuit of a career in film, television and theatre. While working within the theatrical community, Jason also took on a position with It's a Dog's Life as a dog walker and pet sitter. He has now been with the company for over two years, working with clients throughout the San Fernando Valley. Jason resides in North Hollywood with his two favorite kids, Parson Russell Terriers Jersey and Jackson. |
Alissa-Nicole KoblentzDog Walker/Pet Sitter: San Fernando Valley Alissa-Nicole, aka "ANK" was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and is self-proclaimed Pug-A-Holic. She has an adorable rescue pug named Henry Rollins. When not pet sitting or dog walking, she often volunteers at local charity events for children, helping them to receive clothes for school and new shoes. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory and very much enjoys performing in musical theatre. |
Linda GrunfeldBack-Up Dog Walker: San Fernando Valley Linda grew up in Maryland where she developed her love of animals at an early age. She was constantly bringing stray cats and dogs home. Since moving to Los Angeles almost ten years ago, she has fostered more than a dozen dogs and has been a volunteer for Karma Rescue for over two years. Linda currently lives in Sherman Oaks with her three dogs; Lilo, Murphy and Bindi. |
Alison SeguraDog Walker/Pet Sitter: San Fernando Valley Alison grew up in Caracas, Venezuela until her and her family moved to Orlando, Florida when she was ten. One precocious bunny (Max), two meek turtles (Charlie and Sam) and two sweet Boston Terriers (Jugete and Toy) later and she found herself in the Golden State.
