 Hoss: Basset HoundMy wife and I cannot say enough great things about Lauralea and the members of her team - Joey, Jason,and Jonathan - who took care of our basset hound Hoss for the three years we had him. Lauralea was pretty much with us from the beginning once we rescued Hoss, and we knew from the first time she came to meet him that she was the right person to take care of him. Generally, she or one of her team took Hoss for a 30-minute walk in the early afternoon every weekday, and we never had any issues with someone not showing up or showing up at the wrong time. They'd take him for a walk or just sit with him in the shade or play with him inside if it was too hot (Hoss could be pretty stubborn when it was 100+ degrees). Over the years we came to rely on the It's A Dog's Life team more and more, and there was not a single request they couldn't accommodate... a second visit in the evening to feed him dinner because we realized we were going to be working late? Done. A last-minute cancellation because Hoss had a vet visit we overlooked? No problem, we'll credit you for next time. Our boy had his share of medical problems, and we knew we could count on Lauralea and the team to keep an eye out for anything out-of-the-ordinary. If it was possible, I think they loved him as much as we did, and when cancer finally took him from us just a few short weeks ago, I think they cried almost as much as we did. If you don't really care who walks your dog, then you might as well call someone else, because what makes Lauralea so special might be lost on you. But if you want someone who not only knows dogs and how to take care of them, but also loves dogs and wants to take care of them - call Lauralea.  McGrueder: Labrador/Great Dane MixSometimes my mom and dad go away and leave me alone and I get really sad. But then I get a new mom. Her name is Lauralea, and when she comes over I like to jump and jump and jump and jump and jump and jump and jump (mostly on her). I get a little excited.  Ben: Cavalier King Charles SpanielLauralea is my mom #2. I can't imagine life without her. Whenever mom and dad are busy working, or have to go out of town, I know that I can always count on her to take care of me! I never have to worry about being left alone or not getting enough exercise, dealing with people who don't know my routine (treats?) or my needs (cookies?), or being lonely during those long nights when my people are away. Of course, I like to keep It’s A Dog's Life around for more than just treat-dispensing... Lauralea is helping me to become a well-adjusted, good canine citizen, too! She is great with pups and very intuitive about my needs. So if ever I'm feeling a little off (like that time I chewed up my bed) or just need a little extra help learning the rules (heeling was fun to learn! Suffice it to say, cookies were involved), both my parents and I take comfort in knowing that she is around with very capable hands and sound advice. Who would want to walk with anyone else?
